Revegetation Project

July 2024 - We are back planting this season. The Garden Buds team planted 3,000 NZ Natives in Stoke as part of the Quail Rise Development. Planting projects are integral to our business core when we think about the impact these plants make now, and in the future. We also do residential planting - if you have a piece of land that needs revegetation, do get in touch. We'd love to help.

Two Years in Business :)

(20/3/2024) Time flies by and we will be celebrating our second year in business! While it does not feel that long, its only when we look back we realise we have done a lot, learned a lot, and met a lot - we are grateful for all. Like many business owners we have a lot of exciting things going through our minds and are looking forward to putting into action. Our pricing remain very competitive in today's market - for the value of work we can do, and the quality we can provide. It's not just manual labour we provide. We have the know-how. No shortcuts. Our business goals are high, but continuous education and upskilling of our staff remain on top of our list. Currently some staff are completing their BCITO apprenticeship. Health and Safety is forefront - they are also GrowSafe Certified and First Aid ready. So grateful to those we have met, to those we have worked with and for, and to those who have supported us ansd allowed us to grow. Grateful for all feedback - be it positive or negative; and all learning will be translated to helping others as well. Allow us to do your landscape project, and you have our word - Workmanship Guarantee from start to finish.

Lawn - which suits best?

So many types of lawns are now available in the market and we often get asked which is the best. Well.. at the end of the day they all look great - it all comes down to your individual requirement and the time you can spend looking after them. FROM SEED Pros - Can look really good, and is a cheap option. Cons - It can be washed away by heavy rain. Longer germination and maturation, depending on time of the year. Another product we can install are the seed-embedded wool blankets. Technically this is from seed, but the seeds are embedded in wool blankets which help supress weeds and retain moisture. With proper care, the end result is a full, lush lawn. READY LAWN Pros - Instant, easier to establish a green lush lawn. Cons - The product is heavy and can be more labour intensive to install. TURF (ARTIFICIAL LAWN) Pros - Instant and easy to install. Obviously, very low maintenance, but still lots of green street appeal. Cons - Will need replacing after a few years. Depending on the amount of sunshine, this product fades and/or becomes damaged. We have experience and knowledge in installation of all these. Contact us to discuss you lawn requirements.

Revegetation

In 2022, Garden Buds were contracted by Solitaire Investments to help plant their Stoke residential development with thousands of NZ natives. This mass planting project is something we thouroughly enjoyed, and took pride in being able to give back to Mother Earth. We similarly also enjoy residential planting projects that may be too big for a homeowner to handle! For instance, we have helped some homeowners in Mapua and Ruby Bay with hill planting. Planting on your land discourages growth of weeds (gorse being prolific in banks!), and may help prevent erosion. In the longer term this is also cheaper and easier to manage than having to weed-cut periodically. Not to mention the touch of elegance and relaxation that these green gifts can provide.

New-build Landscaping

New builds have increased in number in the Nelson - Tasman, and for good reason. This tells us how incredibly beautiful this part of the world is. While we agree that there's a heap of resources for talented individuals to 'DIY' landscaping, you can't go wrong with experienced landscapers. We have vision and discernment, and a knack for the small details. Here at Garden Buds, we have a small team of skilled, equipped, insured landscape gardeners. Our process begin with site visit and analysis. We then provide you with a no-obligation, free estimate. Once accepted, we agree on a project engagement. Your input and collaboration during this process, and along the way, is important to us. Contact us today to begin your landscape planning process and let us bring your outdoor requirements to life.

Gardening & Maintenance

As the title suggests! Gardening, lawn mowing, weeding, hedge trimming. Yes, you got the gist. To our clients however, this means more than that. It is - time to do other things. It is - being able to keep a tidy garden when you are unable to do so for any reason. It is - being able to put your feet up and enjoy your weekends with family. It is going away for a contract in across the ditch, knowing your garden is looked after. It is spending half the year on the other side of the world and have us maintain your Nelson grounds. Whatever it may be, we are happy to help.
